My child is suicidal. What should I do?
Take action. Call the national suicide hotline at 9-8-8 or 800-273-TALK (8255), or go to your nearest emergency room.
My child has never been around horses. Is the program right for us?
Absolutely. We have safety measures in place to make sure all of our visitors feel safe.
What should my child wear?
We require that all visitors to The Ranch wear closed-toe shoes. Boots are ideal, but tennis shoes will be fine.
My child does not have a mental health diagnosis. Are they eligible for your program?
Absolutely. A diagnosis is not required for your child to participate in activities at RWR.
Are your services covered by insurance?
We do not accept insurance for services at The Ranch, but we will give you the proper paperwork that you can file with your insurance company.
How long are your sessions?
Horsemanship or counseling sessions are 45 minutes long.
Do I need to pay upfront, or can I pay as I go?
We require payment prior to the class or session.
Is your counselor licensed?
Yes. Our counselor is a licensed professional counselor (LPC). Read her bio our Staff Page.
Is your horsemanship trainer certified?
Yes. Our trainer is certified. Read her bio our Staff Page.
Do you offer DBT or Group Counseling?
Not yet. This is part of our 12-18 month plan. See link to learn more about DBT.
What if we need to reschedule?
We require 24-hour notice for cancellations/rescheduling. There will be a charge for the full amount if a session is missed.
The Ranch doesn’t have a barn or a covered arena yet, what happens during bad weather?
In the event The Ranch is closed due to inclement weather, classes will be rescheduled.
What are The Ranch hours?
We’re officially on ranch grounds from 8:00 to 8:00, but lessons and visits are only at scheduled times.
How old does my child have to be to volunteer?
Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.
Do you offer discounts for multiple siblings attending the program?
We do not.
Is RWR a religious program?
It is not. We welcome everyone at the ranch.
